MICRONEEDLING/COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY IN BIRMINGHAM, MI

Microneedling, in the most basic explanation, is the insertion of very fine, short needles into the skin to create rejuvenation. Microneedling is typically used to address a variety of skin concerns, including:

  • Acne

  • Hyperpigmentation

  • Sun damage

  • Large pores

  • Visible signs of aging

We use the SkinPen at Birmingham Skin & Hair Aesthetics, for our microneedling treatments, the only FDA-cleared microneedling device on the market. SkinPen effectively activates the skin’s remodeling process by creating thousands of tiny micro-injuries, thus creating new collagen.

Add PRP to your microneedling session!

Many of our patients opting for microneedling in our Birmingham salon choose to add PRP therapy to their session to see more visible results, in less time.

What is PRP?

PRP uses the power of your blood’s platelets to rejuvenate skin and reinvigorate cell turnover. Platelets have the unique ability to rev up collagen and elastin production, which helps skin repair:

  • Uneven skin tone

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Dull, tired complexion

  • Hyperpigmentation

  • Acne scars

What to expect during your Microneedling PRP treatment:

A syringe of blood will be drawn while your face is numbing with a topical anesthetic. The blood is then put into a centrifuge, which separates the PRP from other components in the blood. The PRP solution is massaged onto your face, typically after the microneedling treatment. The PRP deeply penetrates into the skin as a result of the micro punctures created with the microneedling process.

Procedures typically take only 30 minutes, depending on the size treated and the desired results. Due to its non-invasive nature, microneedling sessions usually require little to no downtime for patients. Learn more about microneedling at Birmingham Skin & Hair Aesthetics today!
